I was hanging around some Christians yesterday. It was weird. There was a person who'd been through some horrible stuff who had left the church and doesn't believe in God now (or rather, doesn't know if God exists or not so he's really an Agnostic, not an Athiest) and the Christians were ripping him apart the way they do, saying everyne's had it

I love that I'm a Christian, but I'd get along better with the honest agnostic guy than the arrogant, un-humble Christian people. Hell, I've *been* that guy, in less horrible settings.

I'm sorry you had to experience that, for the eleventy-bazillionth time.

What I don't understand is, why are you a decent human being? You're proof that it's not impossible to be one and still be a Christian, why is it so hard for others? I'm not calling myself a Christian anymore, so you could say I'm a heathen and that's why I was different even when I was a Christian, but you're still a Christian and you're not evil and vomitus and judgemental and wicked and terrible, and you see the wrong in these things, and you listen to Nickelback and U2 and find goodness there even though it's not OMG TEH KRISCHIN music...so why is it so hard for other people? Gah.

I'm strongly considering breaking off my ties to Christianity, saying "Fuck Dogma" (not the film though, that was awesome), and becoming Shinto.
