He was pretty sure this man wouldn't give them up so easily, but nevertheless, he held his hand out to him. Gods knew if it had been the other staff who caught him, they would have dragged him into some kind of sadistic disciplinary ... ritual. He didn't know exactly what they did (and why they did it) but the cries and screams he heard once in a while - and they certainly weren't just nightmare-induced, he'd had hundreds of patients - were proof enough to him.
"If you please?"

Aaaand back to Pearl-Two. "I'm here on my own accord, not for some violent act of crazy state-side, so me having these is really only a danger to myself--and, considering, I really doubt you care about that. I only keep them because of sentimental value, so," he tucked them back down his turtle neck, "I'd appreciate it if I got to keep them, and their existence stayed between the three of us."

It wouldn't exactly be fair if this man was allowed to keep the chains if nobody else in the asylum was, whether or not he turned himself in. Zexion himself had arrived at Malaise willfully enough, but he was treated no different from the people put here by force or as a way to get out of jail. Honestly, the tall male had some nerve to think he could just break the rules like that, but the smaller boy fell to silence once more, letting Black Jack take care of it. Not without giving the brunette in front of him a cross glare, however.
At least, he was pretty sure that the doctor would protest to this - it was rather obvious that even if the man had no malicious intent with them, another patient could take them off him and use them for their own deeds. Couldn't he just keep the tags and give the chain away? His stubbornness was merely annoying.

"As much as I would like to believe so, rules are rules, and in this case, it is a rule that actually has some merit to it." Oh, he would know -- he'd had his own share of breaking more rules than he could count. Now, if they knew that he didn't have his license...
"Unless you will tell me that even the chains are as sentimental to you?" he said, propping his chin on his fingers, looking curious. It wasn't bending the rules, really, so it was a good alternative. This Torn person seemed smart enough to know.

Really, he could say it did, considering it was the same chain he'd had for years. The dog-tags had come on this chain. But...well, it was foolish to think this man would let it slide just for that. Still, Torn would fight for these. What little he had...

Why would a chain hold sentimental value? That was preposterous, but the smaller boy held his tongue once more. No sense in getting on anyone's bad side, even if he found himself disliking the tall man in front of him.
At least he didn't seem quite as irritable now, though the look on his face was quite menacing. Zexion didn't feel as nervous as he had before, but that didn't mean he would move away from Black Jack, or anything. It was better not to chance these things.
