In fact, it was almost to the point where he would rather go without a present than have to sit through one of Tseng's lectures. The last one had been absolute hell, bad enough that he almost started to regret what he had done.
As deep in thought as he was about if he wanted a visit from the other man, the knock at the door came as quite a surprise. Even if a moment ago he had decided that the pros outweighed the cons in this situation, panic struck him at the notion of getting yelled at more for his stunt.
On a whim he dove under the bed as fast as he could (which wasn't very fast, considering he had to be careful with his ankle). "Don't come in!" He cried from his hiding spot, not sure himself whether he was being playful or not.

Ignoring the cry he grasped the doorknob and opened the door, poking his head in and surveying the room until he picked out a shock of red underneath one of the beds. The recently used bed at that. Subtle, real subtle. Tseng was glad to see the training had paid off with this one.
He crossed the floor and in a smooth move crouched down and peered under the bed, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes absently as he did so. "Aggravate your ankle enough yet? Or do you want to try for another week in the cast?"

And he knew that hiding under the bed wasn't the best plan, but he had been a little frantic and there wasn't many places to hide in a patient's room. Besides, it had been a long time since he had been on the job, and he was pretty rusty.
He peeked up at Tseng through his bangs and scowled because he had been found. At the moment his ankle was doing its usual throbbing, a little more painful than normal because of his quick movements. Not that he'd let the other Turk know.
So instead he scoffed a little. "Uh . . . I'm not here right now. Leave a message after the beep."
