It still needs a hem and hooks/eyes. And I need to unpick some of the stitching attaching the skirt to the waistband and redo it because I didn't overlap properly for the opening in the skirt, so it gapes a bit. Annoying, but shouldn't take too long. One of my classes has videos of storytelling to listen to instead of books to read, and one of the ( Read more... )

Other than the extra length in the bodice back, it's perfect! I love the line of the late 1860's. Are you going to make a white collar and cuffs to go with it? They always make such a nice finishing touch.

I hadn't realized your hair was quite so long. It's very pretty.

Thank you! This was sort of my trial run of this pattern, so I don't mind having a couple small problems that I can fix in future iterations. I really like the lines of the late 1860s too, more restrained and tailored. I do plan on making a collar and cuffs to finish it off (as well as a bonnet eventually). I think they make it look more "right."

Thanks! I'm growing it out for now just to see how long it can get. I've never had it this long before.

Yeah, your hair IS long, woman! We should do some kind of Victorian long hair thing at coco. And do one of those photos like you see.

Thank you! And yup! I want to wear it to Pepin because it's 1867 and it's the 150th anniversary of Laura's birthday! :)
