OMG fantastic. Thank you so much - this is the best bit of Mal/River I've read in a long while, and believe you me, I needed it. :) It was very well-written; I think everyone has their own incarnations of River and Mal as characters, and yours I really like. You have a very good River voice and a great understanding of what drives Mal as a character, and bringing the other ones in here felt nice, too.

Also: feel terribly bad that I failed you and didn't do your Mal/River/half a bottle of wine promptly, because now you've done it here and it's brilliant. What happened is, I wrote the fic with the bottle of wine clearly placed at the beginning, and then forgot all about it. :P Such a failure. Do you still want me to write you a proper one? :)
