Ana! You return!

Doesn't matter how many times I read these, they're always good.

*hugs*

Thanks, Jen! As soon as I get my act together, I'll try and write another one for you to beta. You're the bestest beta in the whole 'verse! :)

Ooh, this is just CUTE. I like the Kaylee POV here, her metaphors, and her connection to Serenity as a character in its own right. She and River are the ones Serenity really speaks to.

I enjoyed writing Kaylee's voice. She's so gosh-darn cheerful, and I'm used to laying on the angst, so it was a nice change of pace. And she loves Serenity almost as much as she loves Simon, so I had to try and get that across. Glad it worked. Thanks for the feedback! :)

*dances madly around her house to the bemusement of husband and two cats and dog*

Another shiny chapter. I really like how you've put Kaylee's spin on things.

I can't wait to see if the 'verse is gonna light up or blow up!

Gwen, your feedback is always a balm to my heart. Thank you. :)

And thanks for the visual of you piroueting. Hope you didn't knock over any vases or anything... ;)

REALLY fantastic. You get better with each one of these you do, and you were so great already. I LOVE bringing in a new viewpoint -- it's so fresh, and the way you describe things in Kaylee's eyes is just gorgeous. So true to life. Errr, TV. :P

"choking on his own feet" -- AHAHAHAHAHA SO EXCELLENT.

Another bit I loved was this: The look Kaylee saw in those eyes whenever they landed on the Captain about broke her heart. They held a wretched combination of sadness, pleading, and hopeless love. How Mal could ignore that look was beyond her.

Urggh. All this UST and angst -- you TOTALLY need to repay us with hot lovin', and SOON.

Fabulous. <3

I'll get to it. Trust me. ;)

Thanks for the feedback, Nina. I love different POV's as well. It's funny how people outside of a situation notice things that those actually *in* the situation don't.

Also, I really really want to apologize for the delays. Second year has been a little more time-consuming than I'd hoped it would be. This is probably going to take a lot longer to complete than I originally thought. I don't want to discourage anyone, but I feel the need to be realistic. If you guys don't mind hanging around for another six months to a year, that *might* be enough time even for me to finish. Hopefully. :)

Oh, thank you! Kaylee's so much fun. She doesn't have all that angsty baggage that Mal and River have. Not that I'm complaining about that baggage! It's what makes them so interesting to write. But it is nice to write about someone who sees through all the mental blocks and guilt to the fundamental truth beneath.

Sorry about your back! Feel better, and do exactly what your doctor says (I have to say that. ;) ) I know you must be going stir-crazy. I hope you have someone who's bringing you breakfast (and lunch and dinner) in bed. Being sick by yourself is just no fun. Not that it's fun anyway, but you know what I mean.
