Apparently the BBC reckons most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here. I'd be interested to hear which ones you've read and loved

Omg, Watership Down is SUCH a great book! So glad to hear that somebody else likes it. ♥
Also, Germinal is AMAZING. I highly recommend it :D
I'm currently in the middle of reading Lolita and I'm loving it. The things Nabakov can do with the English language! I was tempted to continue reading it in public when I was wearing lolita the other day, but thought, No, that's going a bit too far. XD
yes, I loved loved loved WD <3 I want to read Lolita too, but XD it's like that too -- the last thing I want is for my family to get that particular association with the fashion XD *plots to read secretly* lol
i've read like 42 books...well 42 and a half. my mom and i are working through Les Mis but it's a Spanish copy so it's taking me forever to get through it.
*is an English major :)
I could not stand Tess of the D'Urbervilles. I read it twice...the first time I was 13, and I hated it, the second time I was 16 and decided to give it another shot, and I still couldn't get into it.
Oh and I highly highly highly recommend The Count of Monte Cristo. :) It's one of my favorite books.
I'll def. have to read it T_T I'm going to maybe make this my summer reading list since I have 0 time to read novels right now. Ahh, english major! I had no idea - I always figured you were into poli-sci or something, I dont know why XD
...this depresses me because I spent the better half of my high school career having to read these for my honors and AP courses D:
Of Mice and Men is one of my all-time favorite books. Actually, anything by Steinbeck is pretty damn great in my opinion. I'm shocked to see that The Pearl wasn't on the list. And Animal Farm is a GREAT read and so is 1984.
...and also because I loved them and need to recommend them as much as possible: The Lovely Bones (currently been adapted to movie form by Peter Jackson, director of the LOTR trilogy) and Heart of Darkness. DAMN fine book that last one.
have I ever told you that I love your icons, especially this one? Because I seriously do <3 <3 I'll have to take up your recc's sometime this summer too :D XD seeing as we have so many other common loves I'll have to find out if this applies to books as well +_
