Sameth is really, really bad at hiding emotions.

And Tavi's a watercrafter now. Ow, that hurts.

"What happened?" he asks quietly, voice concerned.

The quiet just jolts him from his thoughts and he tries and fails to manage a smile,

"I have to go home."

Tavi tilts his head, then a faint not-quite-smile crosses his face.

"Time to finish the job?" His voice is still quiet, almost gentle.

He knows how daunting that can be.

"It needs to start first."

Not that he'll be able to do it but at least he won't be selfish and failing everyone by being here.
