I've been waiting for a fic like this sense we found out about Byakuran's insane power. The first section was a little confusing - was Byakuran the driver or a spectator to the accident?
I really like the idea of noise as being the driving for for Byakuran's domination. It's almost like he's schizo: "must. get. rid. of noises."
Heh, I've had fic ideas whirling around in my own head ever since I read that chapter, so I couldn't resist. :D He was the spectator standing on the street corner, not the driver. I wasn't sure how confusing it might be, but then I figured that it was supposed to be confusing anyway (as a taste of what Byakuran's "what, what the hell is going on again?" world might be like XD), so I just left it as is.
HE IS SCHIZO. Poor guy, he just wants the voices to shut up already. I figure it's as good a motive as any for what he's trying to do. :P
I, too, suspected that Byakuran's power must have a crazy effect on his mind and that his obsession with conquering the world (or all the worlds) must have something to do with it. Your fic sorted out my suspicions and made a perfect sense out of them--maybe that's why I'm loving it so much.
And I love the first section. It shows the confusing insanity Byakuran lives in all the time really effectively.
Thank you! :D Yeah, to me the explanation of what Byakuran's power really was also doubled as an explanation for why he was a world-dominating lunatic. I'm with you; I figure the two things had to be related, so.

(LOL, I am by far the worst person ever when it comes to reading and responding to other people's fics on a timely basis, so don't even worry about that. XD)
Honestly, I actually feel sorry for Byakuran when I think about how things must be for him. It is something of a miracle that he hasn't just snapped and broken down. I think I might have gotten tired of waiting for Amano to give him a sympathetic backstory, so I just gave him one of my own. XD
Haha, I have a grand total of zero sentences written for my two fics. One of them I'm still playing out/organizing in my head, and the other one I'm just planning to wing it like the day before it's due. I did so well with getting my fic done ahead of time for the last round of KHR Undercover, too. APPARENTLY I LEARNED NOTHING. :/
