True as it may be, it's still polite, if you're particularly attached to them as your father figure. This also applies to husbands.

But I sleep in a lot of places. When the last guy turned into a drone for a while I wanted to stay away from him. But a little while back I noticed all the pictures had changed...but I can never find the new guy.

Maybe he's some kind of invisible person?

Take Mother's Day and invert it. That's what happens on Father's Day here.
