Such a good reason for me to never own a cell phone.

Thanks babe, you nipped the "buy an Iphone" idea in the bud for another year :-)

as a clarification, according to snopes, there is no deadline for doing this

but I do know there was a release regarding it e-mailed from one of the techie sites I subscribe to back in July stating it would happen in early fiscal year 2009 (which we are now in) ... but to be honest, no, I haven't seen any recent news from that source

however, since you pay for incoming calls on your cell phone, and I know I have already received sales pitch calls on mine, registering your cell phone on the Do Not Call list seems like a good thing even if this big release to telemarketers doesn't happen immediately or at all

I noted the snopes information in my clarification

so though there may or may not be a release of all cell phone numbers to telemarketers, I know these 3 things to be true:

1) I have received sales pitch calls on my cell phone

2) a cell phone user pays for incoming calls, even unwanted ones

3) it is a good idea to register your cell phone on the Do Not Call list

I never get telemarketer calls on my cell phone. However, I'd love to find a way to stop the 30+ spam text messages I get a month on it.

well, since my cell phone is now on Do Not Call, I wonder if the spam text will stop?

I don't get as many as you, but I get at least 6 a month ... I'll have to see if that still happens
