Wow, it's hard to believe I haven't updated this journal for so long. I've thought about it a number of times, but something has always stopped me from updating. It's not that I don't have enough things going on. It's more been a private versus public self issue. With facebook and all of these additional ways of communicating, it makes me further ( Read more... )

Totally agree about Facebook. Since I hopped on that bandwagon my LJ posts have become almost non-existant...

Yeah, I think I am going to try to use this journal more often again. Facebook is great for the quick updates, but I still like journals like this for recording more detailed experiences, media reviews,recipes, and the like.

The greatest strength and weakness to facebook is in the continual stream of updates, in my opinion. I am continually aware that anything I update on facebook will be coming up on someone's "News Feed", and as such I try to keep the "noise" to a minimum (one of the reasons I am not a subscriber to Twitter). With my journal, on the other hand, I feel like people can choose to check it out my updates or skip it altogether.
