Having to re-adjust to living alone after my divorce, I found myself easily paranoid of every sound. A tip I read for people who were having trouble sleeping, which I was a the time, was to listen to all the sounds you can hear - from the water in your pipes to the traffic outside - and identify them. Not only does it relax you, but it makes you very familiar to your surroundings, and more secure in knowing just what is a normal sound and what's not. I've yet to hear a sound that was out of the orindary that wasn't caused by naughty kitties getting into things and I'm much more at ease living alone.

And I can sleep naked all the time - which I do. ^_~

Thanks for the suggestion. I've always been one of those people startled by every noise at night, even when I'm not alone, so I suspect it will get worse when I'm alone at first. One of the reasons that I'm glad I have cats is that I can blame every noise on them *LOL*
