Why am I not surprised Papa's enough of an idiot to name me after a shark if I were a boy?

I should write and tell him he's an idiot. But then he might send back another soggy letter. He's such a crybaby.

I'm sure it does mean something in a language I haven't studied yet...but it doesn't mean shark as far as I know. I was referring to the species called "mako shark."
