My printer is doing something weird today: I wanted to print the address to mail off some documents, but when I tried to print the printer just fed the paper through without printing. I tried from a pdf; I tried from a Google document; I tried from an Open Office document, and all did the same thing. I didn't feel like trying to work out the ( Read more... )

No idea what's wrong with the printer, but I wonder if you tried restarting it? Sometimes mine won't print at all, as if it isn't getting the message from the computer. So I turn it off and on again and that seemed to fix it.

Wow, you've lived in Australia and then Indonesia and then the US? You're a citizen of the world!

I lived in Australia, then Indonesia, then Australia again before coming here. Indonesia is very close to Australia geographically but miles away culturally, so it was an interesting experience.

Apparently the printer ink has dried up but the low ink warning light didn't flash to let me know.

What a pain about the printer. It's not out of ink? I would do the old reboot trick.
I hope you can work it out!

Why would they want your daughters' birth certificates? You're the only one directly related to S by marriage.

It seems the printer ink dried up from lack of use.

I don't even understand why they want my birth certificate, let alone my daughters'.

I know how you feel about your family coming to your house. I was ready to say to you: But it's your daughter and her family - they just want to see you, not your house! But I'm the same way. The groceries will probably help you feel more ready.

My daughter seems to be allergic to something in our house so it does need to be extra clean when she's here. Food is also stressful because she has coeliacs, but she mostly feeds herself because she knows exactly what she can and can't eat.

I hope your time with your daughter and family is peaceful and restorative. I'm sure getting the groceries will help you feel more prepared for their time with you too.

Fingers crossed that S's employer is good with your Australian birth certificate
