Late yesterday afternoon there was a phone call which I didn't answer, but the caller left a message and it turned out to be someone from a financial advisory firm calling in response to an online form I filled and submitted on the weekend. My daughter called them back this morning (because I have a lot of trouble hearing on the phone) and we have

I can't recall when the last time was we had a proper thunderstorm here.

I've been getting severe thunderstorm warnings every single day for home, but that's fairly normal for the DC area at this time of year. It seems thunderstorms aren't quite so common here although they do happen. Whenever it rains the girls want to go out in it - with umbrellas or raincoats of course.
