Well, I occasionally *read* apocafic, but seriously, out in California we're beginning to wonder if Armageddon is just around the corner... :D

Is it a bit pathetic that I miss those little tremblers (only when no one gets hurt)? I grew up on the Peninsula and boy do I remember that '89 quake. That must be where my fascination with apocafic comes from. ;)
I had only moved here in November '85, so the '89 quake was my first (and only) major EQ.
Hey, can you send me the URL for your NaNo site. In the 3.2 second it works the next time I go in, I might try to buddy you. I tried six times with allisnow, though, without success...probably due to lunchtime rush.
Or me being oblivious. My coworker thought it was just HVAC guys up on the roof but then when she heard nothing more checked online and confirmed the temblor.
The epicenter was an hour south of here in San Jose. Then again, I didn't feel the much smaller quake in the afternoon centered 2 miles from where I sat in my office, either.
When Loma Prieta hit in '89, I had felt nauseous beforehand, actually was lying down when it hit. The windows rattled and things moved a bit. I tried to stand up but couldn't easily. That was a 7.2 centered about 2 hours south of here. Because it was on a different fault line than ours (there are several major fault lines in CA), San Francisco was much harder hit by it than we were inland.
