Some friends of mine and I have been developing an online game set in the future and on Mars. One of the objectives for you (assuming you'll play when we launch it) is to terraform the planet. This will, among other things, create an ocean in the northern hemisphere.

This online game (which is so far being called "The Face of Mars" - until I can invent a better title) grew out of the previous WotW project. I still plan to complete the earlier incarnation but I lost a lot of the files for it when my computer crashed in January.

You should have heard the arguments I had with inanimate objects then.

Technically, the image above is incomplete by at least half. Only the progress of water in the northern hemisphere is shown.

Last night, I thought about waiting to post - or explaining this detail. I just wanted to post it cause it is so wicked cool.

This does mean there will be at least one sequel. Mars: South of the Border (or some such thing).

As a matter of fact… majormagik September 17 2005, 18:15:24 UTC
I own them and the sequel (Martians, 1999) but haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Personally, I prefer reading non-fiction. "Welcome to Moonbase" by Ben Bova and "Mission to Mars" by Michael Collins are among the resources I've been using for FoM.
