Okay, it's not so much as the frost being on the pumpkin, as all the pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and other outdoor Halloween decorations buried under 8 or more inches of "frost"....

The problem is all of the power lines that are down, making it unsafe for anyone to be wandering around on the streets after dark. So many communities are already calling for cancelling Halloween, or at least postponing it.
I'm signed up for my state's Emergency Management notification system, and I just got the call from my town's EM...a recording stating that if you live on the following streets and don't have power, don't expect it to be restored tonight and please don't call the police about it. It then recited almost every street in my town, including "parts of" the street I live on.
So I guess I'm lucky that I didn't lose power, but even though my town is serviced by the good power company, obviously there's a lot of outages even in my town...
