Oh, MaidenForm ran that "I Dreamt I Was A..." ad well into the 60s...it's in the same surreal, Freudian league as the Modess ads I posted earlier...

"I Dreamt I Conducted The Symphony In My MaidenForm Bra..."

"I Dreamt I Led The Senate In My MaidenForm Bra..."

"I Dreamt I Flew A Jet In..."

"I Dreamt I Won The Olympics In..."

It was a campaign that played not only on the common dream of finding yourself naked in some situation, but also put women in what in that era was considered a totally inplausible situation. A woman become a firefighter? Lead the Senate? Fly a Jet?

Silly girl. The only reason you're having dreams where you're embarassed by being semi-naked is because you dare to dream of being something "outside your station"...

Now get thee into a gorgeous, albeit modest, evening gown while wearing a torture device between your legs to sell a product that we will never, ever, actually tell the consumer what it is...
