Inyri gags as they suck bacta out of everywhere. It was slightly painful, as the coughing and gagging made her newly healed stomach hurt.
"Uuugh." Inyri collapses against her pillows. The nurses laugh and go to get her doctor. Everything checks out but they won't let her leave on her own.
In fact, they don't let her go at all. A few minutes later, the door opens again and one Winter D'altaire, of Intelligence walks in, and gestures for the medical personnel to leave.
"Lieutenant."
"Agent." Inyri murmurs. "Before you ask, I don't remember what the guy looked like."
Winter gave her a tiny smile. "But there was someone there with you. Where'd she go?"
Inyri goes silent. For a long time. "I'll find her for you."
Winter doesn't press. Just nods. "Right. Got someone to take you home?"
"Yeah."
"Good. You know how to find me."
"It was Black Sun." Inyri says softly. "He was a Zekka supporter but I...don't remember who. Zekka had plenty of underlings."
Winter nods. "Had a feeling, when it comes to you. Have a good day, Lieutenant."
Inyri decides after Winter leaves, she wants nothing more than to go home and sleep somewhere that does not beep. You know. As she eyes her monitors. Eh.
Later, after being hover-chaired to the taxicab speeder Wes had called, and driven back to his apartment (he'd been awkward in the car, like he was scared to touch her still. She'd rolled her eyes and leaned against him, drawing his arm around her. He'd rested his cheek on her hair and tightened his arm around her), Inyri is in bed again.
"I feel like I've slept for a week," Inyri murmurs to Wes as he leaned down and kisses her forehead. "But I want to sleep for a week longer."
He smiles at her and squeezes her hand, moving into the living room, leaving her to sleep.
(The room doesn't beep. It's nice.)
