Now that I've finally seen the episode fully, I have to admit... that last 5 minutes was hilarious, and the best part of the show.
Nice to see Darth Raydor on deck. Provenza seemed to be surprised by Sharon saying 'crap', but Flynn wasn't... That witness didn't know what hit her.
I love the way the team throws the ball to each other, and they catch it. Flynn wasn't happy about working with Fritz, but he did it. Then Julio surprised him by the 'surveys' with the boys, but he continued to dance like he knew it all the time.
Every week the show gets better, but for different reasons. The highlight of this show was definitely watching the team work together.
There were definite high points in the epidode. Loved badass Rayder using all the rules and laws to her advantage.
Favorite part was the last few mintues wiht everyone harrassing Sykes.
Provenza's reaction to Sharon saying 'crap' was highly entertaining and yes... Flynn didn't bat an eye.
Hands down best part of the episode was that promo! Looks like Jack is back only to be shown the door in the form of divorce papers and Provenza might just be saying Flynn is to blame - unless that's just a red herring and he was talking about something else all together - which is possible. I think maybe this is the Shandy moment Tony might have been thinking of in today's interview.
It will be interesting to find out what the two sets of legal papers are all about. I didn't even recognize Jack the first time I saw the preview. And I'm guessing it's something else that Provenza said is connected to Flynn. Can't wait to find out what, exactly.
My issue is not how Cooper behaves, my issue is WHY does dating always have to be within the same ethnic groups? For all their avant-guard approach to some things, TPTB are still pretty stuck in stereotypes. Of all the men in the office, why was Julio subjected to the stupidity of having the crush on the Latino lawyer Rios last year? Why is the Irish-Italian cop the one with the drinking problem? Why are gay boys only ever white and thin? And the biggest nerd is Asian? Really?
Personally I was hoping Amy was dating Jason (writer of the TV show Tao advises), and Cooper would be gay, so Rusty would have to stop and think about what gay meant outside of his own narrow POV.
Agree with the race thing entirely, but he did send roses to her when she had to skip out on their date that one time and maybe he's wanting more openness to their relationship. I didn't see it going anywhere with Jason the writer so I was actually relieved that it wasn't him.
I don't see 15/16 year old Rusty in any gay bar with any client but I agree that he couldn't have lived this long without hearing about the Village People lol.
I have to say that I really like Dr. Joe. I think he does a great job showing a very clear picture to Rusty of how and why he's thinking/feeling/reacting the way he is without being judgmental or confrontational. I think Rusty verbalizing he's gay is definitely important but it would have been interesting for Sharon to have actually said that they all know and for him to come to the realization that they hadn't been treating him any differently and he was already accepted.
All in all I really enjoyed this episode. I liked how the story was told through Rusty eyes. I like MC and Duff do their story telling. How in "Long Shot" and "Poster Boy." How the story was being told through the killers eyes. How we knew who the bad guy was and watching the team figure it out.
I totally called Sykes new boyfriend being Lt. Cooper. I enjoyed watching the last few minutes of MC when the team was joking around with Sykes about Lt. Cooper.
The crime of the week was a good one. I didn't see the twist coming at the end. The whole time I was thinking it was the diplomat who murder his so daughter fiance.
