It's sticky and it's getting all over everything!

Yeah, I know, I know - commercial holiday and all, just a money making scheme by the corporate powers what be, yada yada yada. I'm a fricken devil! I can enjoy my annual enforced love march if I damn well wanna.

On that note, Cupid's drop box is back. And its love-sacks are full of sappy shmoop, just waiting to squirt all over you. Open wide.

happy thoughts, devil, beauty

You know what would make this even more awesome? If the folks running it passed the messages on as video singing telegrams or some such. :D That's unlikely to happen, but it does give me an interesting idea...

Y'know, I've had Valentine's Days where I felt very loved, Valentine's Days where I was suffused with incredible relationship-derived angst, and even a frickin' Valentine's Day that fell literal weeks after my first wife left (that was bad). Yet even during the bad years I never attacked the holiday. I mean, okay, if you have ideological objections, that's fine, but honey, all holidays are commercialized these days, including my beloved Halloween. As for a day celebrating romantic love, I've always felt there were way worse things to honor.

Put me down as a fan of the schmoop. It so happens I'm in love and happy, but I was pro-schmoop even what either or both of those things wasn't so.

Also for me, I am a sucker for romantic notions. You wouldn't think that, perhaps, given the horns and all, but yet there it is. Likewise, I've had many poorly timed V-days, and many disappointing ones, and yet I still like the holiday. I guess all the sap hasn't been beaten outta me yet.
