I don't have much to say so let's do one of these things...

Jun 28, 2022 16:53

IP logging is off, anonymous posting is on. So hit me. Something you always wanted to say to me or ask me but were too afraid/polite to do so? Now is the time to do it.

EDIT: I'll leave this here for whoever comes across this journal, or whoever lurks around it. -_^

Ooh. This is very nice. The layout, that is. Also, I enjoy your LJ's subtitle. bk

Finding LJs is really disturbingly easy. Or I'm a creepy stalker. You be the judge!

Oh snap! I...guess it is randomly easy to find people on lj. :O Granted, it's not like I'm particularly secretive about myself, so...!

Well, there are...okay, there are a lot of people with Williams as an interest, but not that many who are also on CFO.

I think your art has a wonderful flare to it, you can draw emotions and make them feel authentic, lively, and make people come to life. You have a great grasp at tones and the shoujo-feel.

It's everything else that you have to work on.
I'm not telling you this because I want you to fail, I want you to succeed so much. I want you to be a great artist, you're an amazing artist and you need to show the world what you're made of. I would tell you this face to face, I really hate anonymous commenting, but I feel my own artistic abilities might not be on par with criticizing your art ( ... )

I don't think you should feel as if your own skills need to be completely...relevant when critiquing my own. You don't have to be perfect at what you're critiquing, so don't feel as if I'd somehow resent you if I knew you were somehow "not up to par". That being said, I did leave this post open to people who were more comfortable being anonymous, so I'll respect your choice to be so.

Anyway, I just wanted to comment and say that I am very aware of what you've mentioned, and I've been aware of it for the past year or so. I really have been trying to get better at bodies and other things that I'm not too hot at at the moment (which is probably why I haven't been posting much art), but I suppose it does dismay me a bit that despite my awareness it's not...really showing in the few pieces I post as much as I thought it was ( ... )

I am the Ninja Dinosaur, I only speak words of wisdom that escape-- I actually am on your friends list, so I usually see your posts... but I go "OH GOD I'm not sure what to really say because I probably make the same mistake too". I still feel something is "off" in certain images, though. There was one you posted a few days ago, but now I can't find it. Did you take it down? It was one with a girl with jeans, I believe. I have terrible memory.

I think I will be commenting on your art more, but I want to get in contact with you first instead of just being like LOL ANONYMOUS. Since you'll notice HEY, THIS PERSON NEVER COMMENTED BEFORE, ARE THEY THE MASKED BANDIT NINJA DINOSAUR WITH JETPACKS?!?!

Whoo, way to blow my cover there.

It sucks, I can't use emoticons if I'm anonymous. I'll give myself away! I probably am already giving myself away. You'll never catch me alive.I am glad you're aware of the problem, though. I've had friends say that they always thought they were 'THE SHIZ' because they drew and no one ever commented ( ... )

*thwaps!* Dude! Thinking that you make the same mistakes is never an excuse not to comment (lol I'm such a hypocrite, I feel the same way a lot of times though)! In fact, by pointing out people's mistakes you'll probably be more acutely aware of your own. That's what I've discovered, at least.

To be honest, getting few comments makes me very...paranoid about my art. ^_^;; I feel like people are thinking things, but don't want to offend me--I don't get why people feel that way though, do I come across like that (I think the only times I've been upset at comments were when they were really stylistically based, but I may be wrong)? So do comment if you see anything that looks weird, especially when I post sketches! I mean, you don't have to, but it would be some help sometimes. :)

Oh yeah, and that picture with the jeans...Yeah, I already know what you mean, I was trying to fix the original sketch (which is in the sketch post) and when it came to inking everything fell apart. Which tells me I've got to have stronger underdrawing...oh ( ... )
