When Joss Whedon killed off Willow's lover, Tara, I was in a similar state. BtVS was a touchstone for me, and I had some... well... shall we say strong identification issues.
I will write the Ianto resurrection pr0n. Definitely. Can you rec me some comms where I can post it when it's done?
I haven't seen Children of Earth yet, and based on the fan reaction alone, I may never see it. I prefer to live in delusion. It's nice here, we have tea and cookies.
Anyhoo, seeing as how I haven't seen CoE yet (i do know a bit about it though), I did like that Ten's goodbye to Jack was a cute soldier (who icidentally is played by openly gay Russel Tovey). I was too busy weeping and trying to close my jaw to notice that much more.
Also, I may really like Eleven.
Also, did you catch the Weeping Angels mention when Timothy Dalton mentioned the "Weeping Angels of old"? Those were some of my favorite villains and I can't wait to see them again.
Re:CoE - If I wanted to have my heart ripped out of my chest while feeling like there is no good in the world, I would have watched Battlestar Galactica. Your decision to stay away from this is wise. I wish I could live in delusion with you.
I just felt it was kind of cheap that Ten's last nod to Jack was to be his wingman at a bar.
People are complaining that Eleven was acting a lot like Ten, but I'm chalking that up to regeneration trauma for now. And as I said before, Matt Smith is adorable.
Weeping angels! There's one in the trailer! I was like, "Sweet, weeping ang- OH SHIT IT'S THE WEEPING ANGELS." "Blink" is one of the scariest New Who episodes ever. Stephen Moffat doesn't want you to sleep ever again.

I can't even tell you how upset I was over Ianto's death. I cried like a bitch and then walked around my house in an inconsolable funk for hours.
