Who: Kari, and anyone you care to introduce her to! Where: Entrance Hall, but I'm open to the Parlor if you prefer. When: Night 003 What: The arrival of a foxgirl with a shotgun. Warnings: None yet!
Mogget had been exploring for a little while now, politely stepping out of the way of an extremely bad feeling mass of shadows and avoiding areas where he sensed Death more than usual. The Entry Hall seemed to be somewhat more 'safe' than everywhere else, so the cat decided to wander that way, slightly bored and more than a little concerned, though the latter he was hiding well.
Noticing the girl nearby, he stopped to watch her, sitting where he was. Saraneth chimed on his collar, the bell's sound cutting through the area like it didn't care for the quiet, unnaturally loud for such a small thing. The cat ignored it, choosing instead to watch the girl. Animal ears and tail on a human body. A creature of magic? No...at least not as much as he would expect from such a creature. Green eyes continued to watch, not talking for now.
Her ears perked at the sound of a bell - it was almost startlingly loud in the silence. She forced back another sneeze as she looked to the source of the sou- is that a kitty?
It was a kitty. This of course meant the house wasn't abandoned; at least, a stray animal lived here. But, it had a collar, which suggested it was someone's pet. It was also adorible. She hadn't seen a cat in years.
She smiled, taking on a high-pitch reserved for pets, and only pets, and bent down to greet the cat. "Hey there, kitty. You're a cat, aren't 'cha? Do you have an owner around?"
She got a Look for that. Honestly, people these days...
Mogget flicked an ear, stared a little more, then replied. "That would depend. And I have no 'owner', only a master who is conveniently not here." Sabriel really needed to find this place and deal with all the Dead here.
When separated from his team, one of Tim's more obvious tasks was to keep an eye out for any new arrivals-- the night was a bad time for people to arrive, and he was worried about the thought that maybe someone might arrive, miss the general 'what's going on' meme and get themselves in trouble. That would be unacceptable.
So it was no surprise that he saw a new girl, her appearance no real surprise to him anymore, kicking the door in what he could only assume was frustration.
She turned swiftly. At this point, it becomes readily apparent that this person has fox ears to go with that fox tail, and also a reasonably modern shotgun which she now holds in both hands, ready to be pointed.
She seems more surprised then hostile, however. Wary. "Who...?"
Tim rose his hands up, slowly, his expression perfectly calm, when he saw that she had a weapon. Just a simple gesture of peace-- he wasn't about to get cocky about a shotgun, but he could handle himself. But there was no reason for it to come to that. He eyed her for a second, before he replied.
A pause. A bit of an awkward pause, actually, as she glanced momentarily to the gun in her hands. Usually when she had a gun and someone else didn't, they either were relieved or immediately rushed her like someone with a deathwish.
"Oh...hello, Tim. I'm Kari. Not going to shoot you, if you're not going to shoot me." At the least, she shot the teenager a reassuring smile.

Then the cat proceeded to talk. Kari blinked, taken aback by this development. "Did...did you just talk?!"

"Are you okay?" Tim asked, first of all.
