Liz was also no stranger to these strange events that life tossed her way. What was strange however was being ready for one mission with the guys and ending up sliding, dropping out of no where and into a room. She gasped as she realized she wasn't at the HQ, spinning around to stare at the door, backing up into the room a bit, hand leveling to rest on her gun belt and dropping to the communicator. She flicked it on, a signal to tell the others she was around and come and get her. It also opened up communication channels that... didn't seem to work.

It also took her a moment to realize someone else was there, though at the moment she didn't have a good look at who. Her eyes adjusting to the new light of the room she frowned. "Hello? Blue? Is that you?" No, it most definitely didn't look a thing like Abe, but who could it be?

The question of 'hunter' did get him talking though, didn't it. And Hunter didn't mean animal killer, at lest not in her book. Still, as he said Military she wasn't that surprised. He carried himself like he was. Secret Service however got her attention. A brow was raised at that, now looking at him in a new light.

"You're an agent?" A bit unconventional looking for an agent and didn't read like one, but he did say 'simular' to one. She wondered if he knew about the B.P.R.D. then...

Her remark about "agent" caused Leon to look at her steadily. It wasn't that it was uncommon for "agent" to be used for people like the Secret Service, but more the way she jumped immediately to it, rather than doing the usual parrot effect of repeating Secret Service to him.

"Yeah." He replied simply, his eyes staying trained on her.

She had never really been impressed with the people who worked for the Secret Service. They protected one man and his family and got praise. Hellboy protected the world and had to stay in hiding for his sake. She had dealt with agents herself. Hell... she was one, for the most part. She liked Abe's term of 'investigator' better.

"Ever hear of the B.P.R.D. then?" It wasn't exactly something they were suppose to talk about, but a mysterious situation like this required finding allies anywhere she could. At least she could measure how much he knew and how true he might have been.

The B.P.R.D. was the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. Only those in the higher up ranks should know about it, and even then it was unlikely.

Unfortunately, they were probably very likely from different places. If he himself mentioned Umbrella, or even Raccoon City, she would likely have given him a rather odd look. Of course, if she had said he only protected one person, that would have gotten another ironic little smirk from him.

However, Leon's reaction was just as blunt as his last. "Never heard of them." And yet, his tone couldn't hide the fact that he was thinking 'it doesn't mean they don't exist'. Leon had no qualm admitting to himself that he didn't know half of what his own government was up to.

She wouldn't know any of those subjects, no, but she was also hoping that this was, well, just something very odd going on back home and not in some other location where she couldn't be found.

"I'm not surprised." She said lightly, frowning a bit. No, she wasn't really surprised at all. She also didn't know half of what the governments were doing when they did it. All she cared about was her friends and the Professor, for the most part. Sure, she wanted to keep people safe, but if it wasn't for them she would just stay locked up in a mental ward somewhere. They really should keep me there anyhow... she thought as she looked around the room again, this time actually wandering. She was putting that much trust into him.

"Lets just say I'm an investigator. Most likely on your side."

Leon took her relaxing as a sign he could do a bit of the same, and he found himself a nearby wall to lean on, arms crossed as he watched the woman. He'd be able to draw his gun or knife should she make any false moves, but he agreed with her sentiments.

"Let's hope so. This place doesn't look like one it would be fun to find an enemy in."

She too felt she could lite up or draw fast enough if she needed to and she wasn't really closing the distance between them or anything. More just... investigating.

"This place doesn't look fun, friend or foe aside." She stated, pausing to look at a table with fall flowers. Her finger nail barely touched on of the dead heads, petals crisp and dist coated. "Looks like no ones been home for a while."

"No kidding." Leon pulled himself off the wall, dusting his coat off in the back as he did. His moves careful, he moved to the nearest door, in this case the one to the coat closet, and opened it with care.

The sight inside certainly didn't lend any further credence to the place being populated, but it did tell an interesting story.

"A lot of stuff seems left behind though. There's coats and things still in the closet here."

Her eyes shifted to watch as he made his way to the door. She was curious about that one as well. She was rounding back to look at the umbrellas and the very short cane when he spoke.

Attention grabbed she walked nearer, peeking into the opened door of the closet. "Curious." Liz said frowning a bit. "That's a lot of fur and scarves to just leave abandoned here."

If he was bothered by her moving nearer, he didn't show it except in a minor shift, but that could have been to let her in to see what he was speaking of.

"There's also boxes a bit further back from the looks of it."

He was sharp and on his toes. At least that much she could tell. Peeking in she saw the boxes he spoke of. Right now she wouldn't have minded having Abe around to tell them what was inside.

Hell, she wouldn't mind having Abe around for her own peace of mind. "Who wants to venture in and take a look?" But she stepped back again, looking past them to the other room just beyond. "Or just look around in general. I wonder how big this place really is..." Boxes or rooms, boxes or rooms. So far it had all got her attention and none of it sat well.

Leon couldn't help but smile ironically at her comment. He'd noticed women were quite often the sharpest, but also the first to not want to go first in odd situations. Claire had been the one few exceptions he had met and knew of, and Ada if you counted her real personality.

"Want to flip a coin, or are you asking me to volunteer?"

She had been in more then a few situations where she went first, though if HB was around she never had the choice in the matter. At the moment though she was in a strange room with a strange man and everything was more then a little... well, strange. She gave him a flat look, then looked back to the closet.

"If you lock me in there... you'll be sorry." She said, pointing a finger at him. Her statement simply saying that she was willing to go in and snoop, but a firm warning to any form of betrayal.

"I don't have any odd tendencies to lock women in closets, so you'd be fine." Was the simple reply, although he retained a piece of that ironic smile. "But if it makes you feel better I'll play gentleman and do it."

He didn't know her, and it was entirely possible she was trouble, but he had faith in his skills to not only dodge, but to work his way out of tricky situations in tight spots, so he wasn't all that concerned.

You just can't be too careful with strangers. She knew she could get out of tight sports easy enough. She'd been trapped in a closet before after all, but at the moment she didn't want to push her luck.

"Be my guest." She said with a very small hint of a smile and a hand waving into the closet to indicate that yes, he could go first if he so desired. She wasn't sure what they would find in hat boxes or boxes anyhow. By the looks of it? Rats. The hat on the floor looked as if it had become a nest of some sort. "Be careful of things with teeth." she tossed out lightly, as if to indicate her thought about the critters.
