And then she'd found a bedroom, covered head to toe in red.
Time crept by slowly and she could not say for certain how long she'd been in there exploring and just drinking in the wonderful scent. All that could be said was that she emerged some time later, clutching and hungrily smelling the red rose she'd found in the room. At least she has some red to get her through the dreary old brown-
-and blue?
The smell of someone - a certain someone! - surprised her enough that she had to stop, sniff into the air again to check.
Then, she grinned.
"Well, well, well... Funny seeing you here!"

"Interesting choice of words," she observed smoothly, and her grey hand withdrew from the knob it had been reaching for to rest instead on her hip. "I could say the same to you!"
If only she had any idea what was going on.

"Oh, no, because it's simply terrible to have to smell you here." Cue the cackle.
She casually leaned against her cane. "But really. You reek of fear. What's the matter, Vriska? Did you get lost?"
And there's the shark-toothed grin.

...was anyone else here?
"I don't know what you're talking about," she replied coldly, with a facade of confidence that was really barely faked. Whatever this was, it couldn't hurt her. It was just confusing. And stupid. And unfair. She'd been about to execute the first phase of a brilliant plan, to finally seize the opportunities paradox space had left laying around for her to put together... and now she was here. There was an underlying thread, a flat note of disbelief and dismissal in all of this, contemptuous and bold:
Scared of what?

"Come on now, you don't have to act so brave. I won't tell anyone you're scaaareed... hehehehe." Perhaps she should help the other troll adjust, as some form of camaraderie - or just for more monster-fighting bait. But that would wait. Taunting her was much more important, at the moment.
"Or maybe... Hehehe. Yes. Even if your fear is diluted right now, it won't be when night comes around. You're lucky, really! Now you've got a little more time to prepare."
