In her time here, Terezi had deduced a few things: This place was horrible, humans were terrible at decorating (so bland! All browns!), and that she almost preferred the monsters to having to spend another minute surrounded by musty brown.

And then she'd found a bedroom, covered head to toe in red.

Time crept by slowly and she could not say for certain how long she'd been in there exploring and just drinking in the wonderful scent. All that could be said was that she emerged some time later, clutching and hungrily smelling the red rose she'd found in the room. At least she has some red to get her through the dreary old brown-

-and blue?

The smell of someone - a certain someone! - surprised her enough that she had to stop, sniff into the air again to check.

Then, she grinned.

"Well, well, well... Funny seeing you here!"

Vriska's surprise must have showed on her face--not just surprise, but raw shock, and it took a second for her to rearrange her features. She covered it up quickly, however, masking it with a smile that was just as pointed in both fang and meaning.

"Interesting choice of words," she observed smoothly, and her grey hand withdrew from the knob it had been reaching for to rest instead on her hip. "I could say the same to you!"

If only she had any idea what was going on.

Terezi would have quite enjoyed catching Vriska loose her cool for a moment- that is, if she'd been able to see it.

"Oh, no, because it's simply terrible to have to smell you here." Cue the cackle.

She casually leaned against her cane. "But really. You reek of fear. What's the matter, Vriska? Did you get lost?"

And there's the shark-toothed grin.

...and now this one is much longer. visioneightfold October 22 2011, 00:23:47 UTC
Vriska's eyes narrowed immediately, all eight pupils fixed sharply on Terezi's ugly red glasses. Internally, however, there was a brief flurry of questions, which she promptly quashed--whatever it was, see if she was going to let Terezi so much as get a whiff of it. She couldn't help but wonder what Terezi was doing here, however; when had she gotten here? How long had she been here? What or where the fuck was 'here' to begin with?

...was anyone else here?

"I don't know what you're talking about," she replied coldly, with a facade of confidence that was really barely faked. Whatever this was, it couldn't hurt her. It was just confusing. And stupid. And unfair. She'd been about to execute the first phase of a brilliant plan, to finally seize the opportunities paradox space had left laying around for her to put together... and now she was here. There was an underlying thread, a flat note of disbelief and dismissal in all of this, contemptuous and bold:

Scared of what?

Terezi could not help but pull her lips into a wide smirk, watching Vriska as well as someone could without actually being able to watch them.

"Come on now, you don't have to act so brave. I won't tell anyone you're scaaareed... hehehehe." Perhaps she should help the other troll adjust, as some form of camaraderie - or just for more monster-fighting bait. But that would wait. Taunting her was much more important, at the moment.

"Or maybe... Hehehe. Yes. Even if your fear is diluted right now, it won't be when night comes around. You're lucky, really! Now you've got a little more time to prepare."
