Kachina is doing pretty well. Saw my own vet today and was able to hold her as they took her blood pressure. She was very calm in my arms, let the vet shine nasty bright lights in her eyes and everything. Her blood pressure was down to 110/60 (from 250 on Sunday), so the vet was thrilled. Also - in the event of blindness being more drastic and/or permanent than you anticipated, my childhood cat was blind for about the last three years of her life, and got on AMAZINGLY well. I love how adaptive they are.

However, at least for now, she seems to have at least some sight back. She's not as good when it's dark, but I was sitting in the bathroom with my leg out wiggling my foot (it's a game we've played since she was a kitten), with no hope she'd even be able to notice, and she walked by in the hallway about 5 feet away, stopped and turned and came right over and arched up so my wiggling foot ran along her side. That's better than just 'some light and shadows'! So, I'm happy for every little thing she gets back and for whatever time I have left with her!
