awwww. She is darling. I wish my son would still let me wear him. What do you bet he wants to start again when he sees his new sibling riding around in the sling?

Oh I'm sure he'll want a babywearing time to be like his sibling...
I'm hoping Abbey won't mind sharing her sling time with the new baby!

Do you have a recomendation for purchasing a sling type thing for someone who has never used one before, but really really wants to for this next little one?

Yes. The best to start and most useful would be something like a Moby wrap, http://www.mobywrap.com/. It can seem daunting to tie on, but from someone who can barely tie her shoes, you learn quickly :) It is very comfortable because it is a 2 shoulder carrier, and very handy when out and about running errands and busy. The only downside to this wrap is that because it is stretchy, you won't fing it as comfortable when your baby gets older, and by then you might want to upgrade to a woven wrap like the one in my userpic (more expensive, but not stretchy, allowing for more elaborate carries such as a back carry ( ... )

can/should i be super annoying and butt in with a different opinion?

i really liked using a mei tai as my from-the-beginning carrier. ok actually it was with my 2nd baby, but i do think it's easier to learn/tie than a wrap...... and i think it's easier than a ring sling too although i'm sure some would argue w me there.

I have a tough time with my daughter in her mei tai. It seems like i can't ever get her and me comfortable in it. Any suggestions?

Perhaps try to wear it higher? I find many women wear their MT's a bit low, causing the baby to not be snug enough and the mama's back/shoulders to be uncomfortable. YOu should be able to kiss the top of baby's head when baby is positioned high enough.

Oh thank you so much! She had croup when those pictures were taken, and she needed a lot of TLC, so I strapped her on to my big belly and we baked all day!

i continued wearing Emilia (27m) in my mei-tai right up until the day before Lillian was born :)
it took a little adjusting - but it was very comfortable!

I am still wearing Abbye, and tahnkfully she is a lightweight. How is E reacting when you wear L?

first couple times she got a little upset - she refers to the sling as "pocket" and would say:
"no babysister pocket! beepy pocket!" (she refers to herself as "beepy") but now it's okay with her ... :)
i'm hoping to be able to wear them both soon - right now i'm still a little sore/weak!
