About singing

Apr 22, 2010 19:21

After a very long period of flu and coughing last month, it's been a very long time since I last sang at the karaoke. I knew my throat has rusted by now so I went for a karaoke session alone today.

I just feel like talking about my singing experience )

karaoke, kingdom hearts

Uhh...technically you have to 'change' your register when you sing higher notes. Except skilled singers don't really sound like they're changing. :)

And if you are having problem with this one particular note, it's probably where your voice's breaking point is. (which is where the voice quality has to change to middle voice or head voice from chest voice, might sound a little 'falsetto') :D

May I humbly suggest you try smiling (and raising your brows) to raise your cheek bones when you sing that high note?

Kurama-sensei...!! ;A; *clings*

I... I didn't know there are that many different type of voices, wow. ;; I just it's just, uh 'throat voice' and 'stomach/breath voice' bwuh... XDD;; I think that "sound a little like 'falsetto'" part is always what I try to aim for because my fave singers are good at them...

Hmm, I'll try to keep in mind about the smiling/raising cheekbones part. I thought I would have already done that though, considering I always laugh everytime I go out of tune. (Oh wait, maybe that's the case; I smile AFTER I screwed up XD;)

Waaahh thanks so much for your tips!

Maiki-tan~~~! <3 *clings back and takes advantage of you fufufu*

I follow the Bel Canto method (aka the singer has 'no throat', and my voice sucks...but I have some technique XD For high notes, get a 'head sound' - the voice should ring in your head. It's okay to sound 'falsetto' like, cos once you get the sound brighter, it won't sound so falsetto anymore (that's what the pros do XD I should demonstrate in a video and show you hahah XD (maybe we can skype or something lol :P ) Lemme try recording some samples see if I can get my point across without a vid hmm...

http://tinyurl.com/255z23t When I say 'throat voice' I really meant 'chest voice' btw - you'll feel the voice vibrate a bit in your chest. :)

I hope this helps! I'm not qualified enough to teach or help people in singing erk...but heck. XD

At least you have a falsetto!! I...can't do that even when i want to TEACH ME SENSEIIIIII

I'm not an expert on this but i do know that different people's throats have different limits, but everything can be achieved with lots of practice! You gotta tell yourself that if you keep training on that note eventually you'll be able to hit it, once your throat gets used to it :D
