Merriam-Webster's announced it's 2009 update of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate® Dictionary, Eleventh Edition

Words include staycation, naproxen and yes, fan fiction and sock puppet

Hmm, interesting. I wonder at the yearly meeting(s) where the candidates for new words are discussed. They must be interesting from a scholarly point of view.
