Maia's apartment Thursday afternoon

Several law books laid scattered around the kitchen table, yellow legal pads scratched up with pen marks illegible to reading to anyone but Maia. Several passages highlighted in one of the books, while little bits of paper littered the table and were stuck inside a few of the larger volumes. Maia sat, her glasses on, writing quickly as she scanned

Rose came up behind Maia and set a mug of tea down next to her. "You keep starin' at that stuff, you're gonna go blind," she teased as she slid into the chair next to her.

She looked at some of the papers. "Whatcha lookin for?"

Maia smiled at the tea and shut the book after marking her place with a numbered bit of paper. "A way out of quarantine." She said leaning back into the chair, "thank you." She said as she sipped the tea.

"What are you planning on doing today?" Maia set the tea down on the table.

"Quarantine? Who's in quaratine?" Rose looked curious.

She shrugged. "Dunno, really. Hadn't given it much thought. Might, y'know, go downtown, see what's goin on."

"Oh well...my friend Shawn was up until a few day's ago and..." She looked at Rose with a slight frown, "Well...I have to go sometimes. It's been about a year or so but they pulled him in and forced him...I just-I just want to have a leg to stand on when they try to get me in there as well."

"Downtown might be fun, it's a nice day." She smiled "Maybe we can go to the park or something later. That is if you want the company." She smiled with a slight blush thinking maybe Rose meant to go on her own.
