I feel like I am now a member of a very special club...  The club for people who have gone shopping in Downtown Fabrics, been called "my daughter", and cut fabric for myself/others when asked. On the upside, I had fun and was offered a job, lol. Too bad another job is the LAST thing I need right now. I just need more money

That store is both the most amusing stop and the most annoying stop when I fabric shop. It's great that he's such a sweetheart, and I love how enthusiastic he is about his merchandise. Unfortunately he's very bad at understanding costuming. If you're looking for a crepe satin in eggplant, he tends to either focus on the crepe satin or the eggplant part and will therefore show you a dozen Italian wools in eggplant, or all of his crepe satin in black and red. He has some of the most gorgeous fabric, but it's hard to find what you need.
I am totally amused by cutting my own fabric though.

Also, that hoodie was ADORABLE.

I've only been in there twice... once sample-getting with Devin, where we found exactly what we were looking for right away (so freaking lucky!) and whats-his-name (John?) was distracted harassing a potential shoplifter to really get involved; and today which was just grab exactly wast I wanted and line up for the cutting table. (And then cutting for other people when they refused to do it for themselves) He amuses me greatly, but I was also really happy he was too busy to give me unneeded assistance.

Gotta catch 'em all!

That guy is amusing although I agree with Amanda on the finding what you want.
