Travel, travel, travel!

I know, everyone has bemoaned the demise of LiveJournal, and to be perfectly honest, I'd be totally lying if I said I didn't miss it. I miss being able to learn about people in their own introspective ways. I miss narrating out my thoughts and my life. While the instant gratification of facebook and Twitter have their perks, and in particular ( Read more... )

We all know how you like "big and substantial" things.

Need more curves! terraplanner May 8 2010, 18:00:22 UTC
Well, you're aware of my complaints for not making you're lines more "curvy", and add to that using a more modern font. Maps aside... I think what is kind of telling/sad is the number of strikeouts we see here. Actually, just did a post showing the number of strikeouts on his friend inventory, and made me think "wow, we've really all abandoned this". And while I'd make the common excuse for myself that others have made that we've all got busy and only have time for updates that are 140 characters or less, I've realized that I still have the same amount of time that I did before. What's changed is the amount of time I've allowed myself to contribute to LJ, and accepted the easier route putting off anything more than two sentences till later. Not sure how I feel about that, at least for myself. I too miss LJ, but more for the writing part, which... I need to do more of regardless of the venue.

meh...my lines are more "flight path"-ish...and eventually curvy lines are really straight lines, like on my NRT-SFO. it's really quite curved, but the curvature of the map makes it look straight. :-( and most of the airport designators are whatever googleearth defaults to.

I didn't mean to be a total Call Out Connie, but glad you shared this anyway. :]

And when are you in Gaithersburg? I'm driving to DC tomorrow for an interview! And will be there until probably Tuesday morning.

Call Out Connie. hmph. :-p

I'm going to be in Gaithersburg May 9-22. I'd love to see you again, but not too sure how the schedule of training is going to work out. This isn't civil training...the documents already say we have to be available 24/7, and I hear there's a curfew involved. But I'll let you know as things play out and we can see if there's a chance to meet up!

Not to worry if you can't swing it, but text or call if you happen to be free Monday night. Enjoy the training!

Nice to see more and more LJ activity lately. I think we all are considering a move back now that FB has jumped the shark.

Was fun to see you here in NY. Come back soon and stay a bit longer next time. If nothing else it will give me an excuse to go back to Marie's! Plus, we never got gelato. :)

Most cross-Pacific flights follow the jet stream when traveling east and follow great circle routing when traveling west. The earth not being perfectly round, however, has little to do with it. There's less than 50 miles difference between equatorial and meridian circumferences.
