I'd like your opinion on something. Volvo convicted of gender discrimation. Volvo's hiring policy stated that for safety reasons, employees must be between 5 feet 4 inches and 6 feet 5 inches to work at the conveyor belt to prevent strain injuries. This has been ruled gender discrimation because it affects women more than men. Your thoughts?

Ironcially enough, this story came out at the exact same time it was announced that Volvo is releasing a car specifically made by and for women.

Edit: They're not actually releasing the car yet, it's just a design. But I just read the story ... personally, I find the "car for women" more demeaning than the height requirement.

I think the conviction of gender discrimination is utterly ridiculous. It is a practical limitation that has nothing to do with gender ( ... )

I agree with you about the gender discrimation. Just stupid, in my opinion. I think sometimes people take things too far, and they overlook the fact that there are good intentions involved ( ... )
