Firefly Kinetic Typography

Jun 08, 2008 03:32

This is my third experiment with Kinetic Typography. This one is by far the best. I'm in love with the background I made. Also, bear in mind that I don't have After Effects, so I had to do this all by hand, frame by frame ( Read more... )

Here from fireflyfans...

I'd never even heard of Kinetic Typography before, but WOW - that was amazing! Truly a work of art.

Thanks! IF you're interested in more, there are some amazing ones on YouTube like this. They have After Effects, so it's all pretty and animated.

Thanks so much! That gunshot took an obscene amount of time. I had to animate it frame by frame. And then I messed it up so I had to so it again, at that point I figured 'If I'm doing over, why not add more screaming?'

Well, My last two posts were kinetic typography for Pushing Daisies and Torchwood. There are also some amazing ones on YouTube that are all animated, cause they have a software I don't. Like this and

Well, I must say that you are excellent at picking out my fandoms! I've never watched Torchwood; but Pushing Daisies, V for Vendetta, Fight Club, and (of course) Firefly are all favorites! I'm going to friend you, if you don't mind, so I can see what else you do in the future. (And I kind of like the "homemade" look and feel of yours a little better than the fancier ones anyhow!)

Very clever and fun to watch (and read). Highlights the beauties of the dialogue in the series very well (hip, cutting, smart, jaunty). I loved how the dialogue literally moved around on the screen. And the different fonts and colors for characters.

The only thing was the green and yellow hued words? Didn't show up well at all. They tended to get lost in the background very easily. Zoe's dialogue was a little lost colorwise too, but also very thin compared to the other fonts, so it too could be hard to read.

But those are nitpicky details, really. I enjoyed this immensely. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much. I'd actually intended for Marco's(green and yellow man)lines to be hard to read. He's an unimportant character, and that's reflected in this color choice.

I'm glad you enjoyed this so much. I love it when people mention subtle art devices in their comments. ^_^

OMG, that freaking rocks! I am so reccing this on my journal. The gunshot wound with the dripping blood was my favorite part. Are you going to do more? 'Cause this was made of awesome.

I'm glad you liked it so much. I'm thinking of doing another firefly one, 'cause their lines are so good. If I get to that point I'll post a poll to see what you guys want.
