Oh dear goodness, I think I'm in love with Penguins of Madagascar.  The fact that my first episode involves time travel and three copies of the absurdly geeky, scientifically-minded Jeff Bennett character probably has a lot to do with that.

Also, I've now seen two actual-on-telly promos for Legend of Korra, so it finally actually feels sort of real

I don't really care about the other characters in the Madagascar movies so I'm very happy they're not in it.

I have never seen any of the movies and was only dimly aware that there was more than one of them or anything else to the franchise until I (finally) started listening to Rob Paulsen's podcast. Now that I actually know what they were talking about, I suppose I'm going to have to go back and listen again to the one with Jeff Bennett. Oh, DARN, how will I survive the torture???

(Yeah, there's no way any of the other characters stood a chance when they ticked the boxes of basically ALL of my favourite things while developing Kowalski. This is me being predictable.)

Oh, also, the movies don't have Marlene and I LOVE Marlene!

What is this tomfoolery?! I've only seen two episodes with her at this point, and even I know that not having her around is unacceptable! And not only because she appears to be the ONLY female character... And, correct me if I'm wrong, there's just the Jada Pinkett Smith character in the movies, female-wise? Goodness knows I love me some animated movies, but the ones that aren't marketed specifically as princess stories tend to fail the Bechdel test in the most spectacular ways... Which is not to say that the "princess" ones aren't guilty on a regular basis, too...

Anyway, yeah, Marlene is pretty awesome! And between her and Eric Matthews, it's pretty much inevitable that I will be pulling out my old Kim Possible tapes really soon.
