Oh, yeah, definitely. Even with the glaringly Not Okay stuff that is in original Trek, it was definitely streets ahead of almost anything else at the time, or for years after. As much as the kyriarchical* stuff annoyed me, it was the incredibly slow pacing that made me stop watching. I got two or three episodes into the second season last year, and I will return to it sometime, but I don't know when. I'm trying to wrap up this second time through the Buffyverse, since it's taken me almost three years to pull that off (almost a year for BS6/AS3 alone, damn that season), I will be finishing up Dollhouse in the next couple of weeks, and my next new-to-me project will be seasons 2-5 of The Batman, but I haven't yet decided what I'll watch after that. I have been considering Trek, though, definitely, but we'll have to see

On the subject of gender swapping, I have just seen the "Girl Panic" video for the first time, and WOW, there's several dissertations waiting to be written about that. That is not exactly their most...let's say intellectual song (All You Need Is Now in general is a little...not quite my favourite? I'm being diplomatic as hard as I can here, obviously), but the video offers so many opportunities for discussion...
Well, I just saw it for the first time (to give you an idea how bad a Duranie I've been, I didn't even _know_ they had a new album out until just now--then again, I really haven't been remembering to look into pop music on the actual radio much lately at all) and...huh
