I confess that I don't think the "Who" cred would have helped,* because nobody in America cared about "Who" until Matt Smith's Doctor -- and it's still only like ten people. I mean, I exaggerate, but you see my point. Advertising it that way wouldn't have helped much ( ... )

I'm not suggesting that putting Tennant's name/face on the posters would have rocketed Fright Night to the top of the box office, but I know from talking to my circle of Whovian friends that I am absolutely not the only one who didn't know until the last minute* that he was in it at all. In fact, most of them didn't know _until I told them_. No one watches commercials anymore, and since his presence in the trailer is more of an Easter egg than an actual advertisement, it was seriously only a bit of luck that any of us found out ( ... )
