The rules are simple: comment with "music me", get a letter, post five of your favorite songs that start with that letter.

She gave me "M," because she clearly knows that all the best things in the entire world start with "M," so it would be impossible for me to narrow it down to five.  (Actually, it was "M" for "Music ( Read more... )

(I haven't _read_ "The Last Unicorn" yet, though maybe I should. I have the movie, but haven't seen it in ages.)

Anyway, MUSIC ME! Since I already have everything in The Music Folder That Ate The Entire Midwest in alphabetical order, that'll make finding stuff that begins with whatever letter easier.
DECIDING, no. _Finding_, yes. Heh.

I read The Last Unicorn back in high school not long after I saw the movie the first time, and I absolutely loved it. I'm now reading the IDW comic adaptation, and it is unbelievably pretty. It's such a good story, no matter the medium.

And you get D, for "Detroit," which was devoured by your playlist.

Dancing in Heaven (Orbital Be-Bop)--Q-Feel. THIS is one of my favourite examples ever when I think of the phrase "New Wave"--although I didn't hear it until the '90s. It is just so...! Adorable, futuristic, cheesy-sounding synths, bouncy, cheerful tune, INSANELY catchy and the lyrics _are freaking sci-fi!_ Who WOULDN'T want to dance with aliens in zero-G? I just _love_ the idea that our first contact might not be a deadly war, or productive yet boring peace talks...but a great big ol' PARTY!

Dead Man's Party--Oingo Boingo. Oingo Boingo! I remember liking the theme song to the movie (more than the movie itself) "Weird Science" back closeish to when it was new? but didn't start like, researching '80s music and discovering that a LOT of cool songs were by the same band until the '90s. Lead singer/keyboardist is none other than Danny Elfman--yes, he of such theme songs as the Tim Burton Batman, Simpsons, and tons more. "Dead Man's Party" is one of my all-time favourite Halloween songs EVER...which...makes this fan-made video ( ... )

It's probably not a coincidence that this song also works magic in bringing disparate groups of people together while riding in my car on a not infrequent basis.

So -- Giles and Spike need to play "My Eyes" to learn how to get along?

ALSO: I HIGHLY applaud your choices of "Moonlight Serenade" and "My Heart Dances." (I LOVE THAT SONG. :D)

... also-also: Letter me please! ;-D

<- the product of about 6 hours of giggling

Your letter is C for "Citroën."

PS: I have a fairly decent GIF animator, now, so if you (or anyone else) ever need anything made...
