Indefinite Hiatus

I've been putting this off for months now. Every time I come onto LJ I am unable to see friends' posts. It used to show the most recent 20 posts from friends on my friends page but now it only shows the last 1 most recently posted or nothing at all. I never changed any settings so that's not it and I've tried viewing the page with different ( Read more... )

are you sure the problem isn't just that nobody posts anymore? I almost never have anything on here, except when ryan posts, because it only shows the most recent posts within a certain time period.

Anywho, I wouldn't fight to keep someone on lj. I pretty much consider this ryans blog. Ryan owns lj as far as it matters to me!

That sort of made sense to me, that it only shows posts within a certain time period but a while ago when I was checking people's pages there was a couple posts from Becky from sometime in that month that never showed up.
Also a time period feature seem just doesn't seem to make sense. Ryan will rule this LJ Kingdom!

it depends on what you are looking for. tumblr is getting more and more interest but its not perfect as a writing outlet. most people use tumblr to post cool things they find on the internet. its used as a quick blogging tool to say "this: (insert picture, quote, audio, video, link, ect.) is relevant to my interests" once you get used to operating tumblr, you can find some really awesome stuff. im actually really addicted to it. if you make a long post, most people end it with a "tl;dr: (insert general conclusion here)"(i.e., tl;dr = too long; didn't read: this woman i saw today was a total bitch). if you want to write, then yeah go for wordpress or blogspot. if you want to read what your friends are writing without coming here, then you should start a trend to go somewhere else and invite people along.

Sweet! Thanks Becky. It looks very colourful and like something someone would quickly scan over constantly. It would be nice to have something more for actually writing but it would also be good to have something to just throw up anything that interests me because it feels like if I did that on FB it would be imposing on people somehow, ha. I'm looking at all of everyone's everything right now.

Yeah it's 100% useless these days. I never check it anymore expect to see what my cousin is up to since she doesn't use facebook. But now it's useless for that since it only shows posts within a certain date and can't go back further.

It's pointless. Best of luck in the future of the internet.
