Please don't let it be Starbuck who is the Cylon. Or Roslin.

I am totally UNSPOILED on the identity of the Cylon, so please don't spoil me if you know who it is. (Does anyone know for sure? I don't keep up with BSG spoilers in general.)

Speculations and theories are always welcome.

No one knows for sure, magnolia888. The spoiler isn't out yet, from what I hear.

You're protecting Starbuck and Roslin, and I will freak the hell out if it's Baltar. I am hoping that the fact that they're focusing on him means it's clearly not him, but I'm still afraid they could be double bluffing on that. But Baltar's being a Cylon would be FUCKING STUPID.

People have been speculating on Gaeta since the beginning for some odd reason, and I suppose he could work. Or Tyrol, especially because he had his random "Am I a Cylon?" phase last season AND that would mean they have another hybrid on their hands without even knowing it.

I don't know that I'd mind if it were Starbuck, really. It sure would give her a lot more angst. The thing is, if it turns out to be Starbuck, that would REALLY feel like they pulled that out of their ass because I refuse to believe they had that idea when they first started. A secondary character would be more plausible and cause less...upset. Besides, Starbuck had a pretty verifiable childhood and stuff, right?

I'm glad nobody knows for sure, because I don't want to come across the spoiler by accident.

Gaeta or the Chief would be fine. But would D'anna have been so freaked out by seeing them? Did she have any interaction with the Chief? I can't remember.

But I would be mighty pissed if it were Starbuck. I don't know how "verifiable" her childhood is, because I guess it's possible that all her memories were "implanted" or whatever it is they did to Sharon. She "remembered" her parents and all that and they never existed, right?

It's not just her memories, though. There are physical signs of her abuse, remember?

I think New Caprica allows D'Anna to be freaked out by Gaeta or the Chief.

But the bodies were designed by the Cylons, right? I mean, Six was made "sex-ay" and platinum blonde for a purpose, right? Her purpose was to seduce Baltar. And Brother Cavil (sp?) was designed to look like an older, wisened sage mystic of some sort. (Or were they given their human roles to play based on their appearances? I don't know which came first.)

So theoretically, Starbuck's body, scars and all, could have been planned as part of her "story" of childhood abuse and all that. I really hope they don't go there, but it could all be explained.

I can't remember their specific interactions, but I hope you're right. Gaeta would be fine and wouldn't upset anyone. Except the people hoping he is gay. And human. ;)

I wondered if it might be Roslin, this morning. I would actually like that. I would hate it with a passion if it were to be Starbuck though, so I understand how you feel.

Okay, if it HAS to be one of those two characters, I'd prefer Roslin. But all the "main" Cylons are female, so I really want it to be a male. We have these two awesome human female characters and I really don't think we need another female Cylon.

I know - I started speculating and then thought, honestly I have no idea. I don't want it to be Starbuck because it just seems too much to add to the character. But at the same time, I kind of don't want it to be a secondary character - like Gaeta - because it would seem anticlimatic.

(and I like Gaeta, I really do but it just wouldn't upset me if he was a Cylon).

It would be huge if Roslyn were a Cylon of course. I don't think it's Dee because DAnna didn't didn't really interact with her, did she? Did she know Sam? I don't think it's Baltar because he seems to be so obsessed with the idea and again - anticlimatic. I think it has to be a shocking reveal when they do finally draw back the curtain or it will fall flat.

But - hee - bottom line, I have no clue.

Agreed on all points. I also have no clue!

It has to be a big deal but all the characters who wuold be a "big deal" will probably be upsetting to me b/c I'm too attached to them. The characters I am less attached to - Gaeta, Dee, Sam -- will be less shocking. (Although I'm getting increasingly attached to Sam.)

Tyrol seems like a good choice. Okay, I can live with that. And then Tyrol and Boomer can be together again in Cylondom! :)

I wouldn't mind if it were Cally either but then I'd worry about the mental health of poor Tyrol.

And Gaeta looks yummy in that icon, btw.

I just caught the episode last night. I'll be really upset if the cylon is Kara or Tyrol (my favorites). Or Roslin. Or Gaius. For that matter, going through a list of the possibilities, I think I'll be upset if it's anyone but Dee, Tigh or Zarek. I love all the rest too much.

Kara turning out to be a cylon would feel like something they pulled out of thin air and it would take a lot to make me buy into it. Although, I guess, in support of it, we do have Kara's ability to figure out and fly the cylon raider. Hmm.

Unfortunately (for me), I think there's a really good chance it is Tyrol. Of course, I've been positive he was going to die in like every episode he's been in, so I tend to worry about him too much.

I really hope it's not too terribly long before we find out.
