I need to set up a phone bundled broadband for a new place.  And have been looking around. And I am so confused. Speeds and data limits. Huh?

Trying to work out if one needs ADSL2+ or if I should look at 8mb/s.
Trying to work how many Gb I use a month.

This is all too complicated.

ADSL2+ is generally about the same price as normal ADSL.

I have a 30Gb cap, and thats comfortable for downloading new episodes of whatever shows, and a healthy side of movies/new shows/whatever as well as browsing and games.

Naked ADSL is probably a cheap option for a new place. The only thing stopping me from switching is the 10-day downtime.

AFAIK only iiNet does naked ADSL.

iiNet and Westnet are probably the bigger ones (and iiNet does naked). I used to be with EFTel, they were okay. Now Im with Netspace, which isnt bad, but I know for a fact that iiNets naked deal is better (for me) than the one I have. I just dont want 10 days of downtime.

Any companies other than Telstra or Optus will probably end up becoming part of iiNet, though :-) and their chewing gum and wet string powered network.
