Honestly, I'm not really up on this show because we've yet to get a distributor here for it (yet the networks pick up cancelled shows such as Missing and Alcatraz!) so I'll be waaaay behind y'all again, even if we do get it on our shores. But, creativity strikes so I made a couple of wallpapers from the high res publicity shots and promo caps (

It's getting that due to differing air dates globally, I just wait for DVDs to come out now, there are very few shows I actually watch live. (I'm not a Nielsens peep, so it doesn't matter anyway).

LOL @ the "ship quota" - this is one fandom I'm staying right on the periphery of - I think it's going to be very very VERY "Shippy"...and you know me and shippyness eh?....*wibbles*.....but they are v.nice walls....

I'm sad that we won't be getting this show immediately and I fear for the current attitudes towards the ratings battle on US tv these days for new shows...nothing seems to get a fair chance before it's canned...Hope "Hope" will have better luck!..

I try to take shipping/slashing on a show by show basis, everyone has different chemistry (however subjective *g*) though someone needs to change the name 'chalex' right now! :P

TV is in a rather sad state. Especially scripted drama, so easily disregarded by the major networks in favourite of cheaper 'reality TV' catering to the lowest common denominator (sorry if you're a fan of that stuff :P).

I LOATHE nearly all Reality TV.....the people who invented Big Brother should all be lined up at dawn and shot!!..*snerk*...

I don't mind a couple of the true "Talent" ones...i.e. So You think You Can Dance was awesome and I have a bit of a fondness for Strictly Come Dancing in the Beeb...but the rest are at best car crash and at worst complete and utter bullshit....but as you say, they are cheap and only serve to line the pockets of exploiters like Endemol and Simon Cowell...

We are lucky in the UK...we do have the Beeb and a few quality dramas on there and ITV, and we have Film Four (a part of C4)..without them we'd be in RTV hell almost 90% of the time!!

I can't stand all the singing and dancing shows. They're not looking for talent talent, they're looking for marketable talent. The Voice is big here at the moment, but the big deal about them choosing people based only on their voice and not their looks means nothing past that initial round as they will of course cut the group down to the 'pretty people' and the winner will put out a single that makes enough to pay the record company etc...

I think my vice has to be Snog, Marry, Avoid. :P It's corny as hell, but it has a sweet message behind it.

btw..sorry I've not been on msn since I first spoke to you hon....been a bit busy with the redecorating, going out (met up with Mon in London yesterday squeeee!) and had to pack the big ol' comp away and use the lappy for next couple of months..haven't set up my msn on there yet I don't think..might try it after I get back from my holiday with the family in Belgium though...

We're heading off next Weds for just 5 days....coming back on the Sunday 28th May (my old man's birthday too)...it's just a quick visit for my mother in law and her sister to catch up with each other again...at 90 and 93 this year respectively every moment they get together is a bonus...

Also helps that the place is a haven of peace and tranquility, with limited net access, TV and outside world...I can chill, read slash, go for long walks and listen to music to my hearts content!...

And eat chips with mayonnaise, drink beer and have a laugh with trying to talk pigeon flemish!!!...*snerk*...

Can't wait for that first cold one and a nice steak!!..

And fyi, that Gate on my icon is where we'll be heading...my hubby's auntie lives in the Gatehouse to the left of it!!...
