This is lovely, and I think a bittersweet but mature way of looking at an ex. Nice to see more of 'grown-up' Amy even though I loved her dropping balloons etc too :)

Yay! I'm glad that you thought that. I wanted to write a Strong!Amy because she is such a strong woman, but still has emotions when you see someone you used to care for.

I loved her balloon animals and throwing water balloons at people.

I commented to the drabbleathon comment you left! I looooved this. <3 (And what I didn't mention is that I almost feel like the fic I wrote and this one that you wrote are like companion pieces in a way. Kind of "immediately after the breakup" and "years down the road" and how Amy reacts to it all.) And I like that. =D Thanks again. (There was a Wing drabbleathon not long ago, by the way.)

Yes! Now that you mention it, there is a similarity between the two and I can totally see that. I really love exploring Amy and what goes on inside her head.

Amy gets a lot of shit in fandom, and it pisses me off, so this was a very pleasant surprise!! It felt very mature, well-rounded and classy- everything I love about her.

what could have been if she was anything but herself.

She’s okay with that and goes back to work.

THIS, because she WOULD be okay with things not working out "because of she is" and that's the coolest thing about her. Lovely.
