Ok, ... this has been the first time in awhile that I've had an "episode". I should have known something was coming earlier today when I was so uncomfortable at Archery and after when all the discussion and the noise of the kids became this overwhelming indistinguishable cacophony of noise like some dramatic movie effect. Somehow this sounds familiar to me . . .

For acute 'episodes' you could try Kava Kava. It is more of a short-term, but faster action herb then St. John's Wort. Known for anti-anxiety and calming.

(((HUGS)) Not that it helps, but episodes are common with people with depression. the trick is figuring when it is coming on and knowing what to do to ride it out. Sorry i can't be more helpful. One thing you can try is when you are in a good space write down a bunch of stuff that makes you feel just a little but better ( IE certain clothes/PJs, certain music, food, nesting, etc) Then put the list some where visible/easy to find and try all of them when an episode hits. I also recommend Kava Kava and try melatonin if you are having a hard time sleeping. Sometimes all you can do in hang on and try to remember that the crazy ride will come to an end ( even if it doesn't feel that way).

BTW do you get migraines?
