[Daine can be found sitting outside, with a crowd of birds around her. Big ones, small ones, ones that are usually only found in the Forbidden Forest, owls...you name it, they're there. She is covered in several white splotches that look ominously like bird droppings, and she is writing in her journal, which also has a few white splotches on the

Alfred had gone out for a few laps around the pitch, as it was such a nice day, it would be a shame to waste it. He spotted Daine and her... friends as he was heading back in toward the castle, and stopped for a moment to stare.

"...You're covered in birds."

It was usual for people to stare at her- Daine was used to getting odd looks as she walked around in robes covered in white blotches. She smiled at Alfred.

"I know. They're nice. Do you want to meet them?"

"Uh, sure." Alfred shifted his broom to his left hand (he didn't want any of those suspicious white blobs damaging his paint job) and took a step forward, holding his other hand out. "Can I touch 'em?"

"Of course. Here, take this one..." Daine took a small Wren off of her left shoulder, placing him into Alfred's hand. "His name is Smallrush."

"How is Quidditch going, by the way?" Daine looked off at the pitch.

Out of curiosity, is it possible for someone to be part of a log and still participate in Action Posts like this one? I'm assuming that they take place at different times, but I just want to make sure before going IC.

I talk to them. They seem to understand, and it's nice to hear their replies. But I can't speak the language of the birds...they just seem to understand English!

I didn't know people could talk to birds and they'd understand...well, except Black Star. He can talk to that giant chicken that appeared at the dance.
I can talk to and understand snakes..though most people are kind of squeamish about that....

(ooc: the "chicken" she's talking about is Excalibur who was a ghost that appeared at the dance. He looks like this:

Birds can be intelligent, when they wish to be. Black Star can talk to giant chickens, though? I've never heard of a giant chicken before.
Don't let them get to you. Any kind of talking to animals is a good thing. It's just what people do with that is what's wrong.

(ooc: Daine thinks Black Star can keep the talking of chickens to himself; it's the only animal she can't really stand.)

"They just like to chatter to someone, is all." Daine smiled, and the birds continued to chirp. "Are you well today?"

"I'm good, thank you. Just taking a break from all the homework lately!" Daine watched the birds on her shoulders, who were turning their heads to follow the conversation.
