Hi helpful LJ friends. I am headed out to the mall later today, and plan to shop for books. Please comment if you've read anything (non-HP) lately that you've really enjoyed. OMG, I love Jasper Fforde! Everyone who loves books about books should read him. My favorites are the Thursday Next books (starting with The Eyre Affair). They're so funny and clever.

I have no idea how much pornyness you like, but I am hooked on a series by Shannon McKenna about the McCloud Brothers. There are about seven books in teh series, I think. They do not have to be read in order, but there are elements of spoilerism if you don't. They are suspenseful with some BAD bad guys and some SERIOUSLY pornalicious moments.

The most recent one "Fade to Midnight", I've just finished reading and it's my favorite of the series so far.

Hang on...lemme check which one you should start with...

*goes to Amazon*

"Behind Closed Doors"

They are fun reads!

Other books we've been selling a lot of at the bookstore, in terms of general fiction, are The Help by Kathryn Stockett, In the Woods by Tana French (also a suspense/mystery), The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (multi-generational family saga), and The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. Also, my co-worker really like Karin Slaughter's books. They're mystery/suspense, so maybe those would be what you're looking for. If you like historical/international espionage, my neighbor really likes Daniel Silva. Oh, and if you don't mind going into the teen section, I love the ( ... )
