Here's an interesting article about the fact that some states are rethinking "get tough on teen crime" laws that give juveniles harsh prison sentences. I knew someone in high school who was jailed on drug charges as a juvenile. Being in prison just gave him an opportunity to get into harder drugs. Harsh sentencing seems like one of the worst possible options in a lot of these cases.
